Walter Shaw served the music students of Union City West Side High School from 1937 through 1948. In 1962, Mr. Shaw received the “Music Man of the Year” award from Ball State University for excellence in contributions to public school music.
Awarded to Union City Jr. Sr. High School students who are members of the band, orchestra, or choir. Scholarships will be offered to members of the band, orchestra, and/or choir for financial assistance for a percentage of the cost of a private music lesson. Scholarships are available to students in grades 6-12 and are renewable in each of the student’s years.
