Michael Greene was an educator who taught at Winchester Community High School from 1994 until 2017. He taught band, speech, elementary music, and elementary art, but his passion was high school chorus. Mike was best known as the director of the annual WCHS musicals that were such a source of community pride. He was a proud Navy veteran. He was also a member of a popular barber shop quartet that entertained local audiences. Mike made it a point to find the hidden talents in his students and encourage them to grow. His students grew in confidence and poise as well as in musical skill. This scholarship is being awarded to a graduating senior who plans to major in music education with an emphasis in chorus or in theatre education.
