Through the Community Support Grant, funded by Lilly Endowment Inc.’s GIFT IX initiative, the Community Foundation of Randolph County has allocated more than $200,000 to support Randolph County-based nonprofit organizations and parks departments in their efforts to maintain, upgrade, and/or purchase a facility in fulfillment of the organizations’ missions to serve Randolph County residents.

A competitive grant cycle, the Capital Expenditures (CapEx) Grant Cycle is designed to support meaningful investment into facilities used by nonprofit organizations in Randolph County. The proposed project must be a major renovation or new construction, and the proposed project must be completed no later than June 30, 2028.

The minimum request for the CapEx Grant Cycle will be $7,500.

The maximum grant award for the CapEx Grant Cycle will be $35,000 but any grant award over $15,000 will require $1-to-$1 match for the award amount over $15,000. (For example, if it receives a grant for $35,000, an organization will need to demonstrate that they have $20,000 from other sources for the project before the final $20,000 would be released by CFRC.)

The application for the CapEx Grant Cycle requires:

  • Summary of the organization
  • Description of the project and the desired outcome
  • Total cost, grant request, and other funding sources (especially for any match required)
  • At least two (2) quotes (from within the past 12 months) for the project
  • List of key personnel and their qualifications to oversee the project
  • Description of the effect and impact of the project on the organization’s mission, clients, and the community at large

Relevant dates:

  • Application opens Sunday, November 1, 2026
  • Application closes Friday, December 11, 2026
  • Applications will be reviewed during January 2027
  • Grant awards will be announced in early February 2027

Participation in the CapEx Grant Cycle does NOT preclude participation in regular 2027 grant cycles. (No grants for facility/capital projects will be awarded in regular 2027 grant cycles.)
