What is an unrestricted fund?
Unrestricted funds are permanent endowments that will last into perpetuity. They are established to provide support for general, unspecified charitable purposes at the discretion of the Community Foundation. These funds provide the most flexibility to meet the changing needs of the community.
Unrestricted funds support our Community Grant Cycles. Nonprofit organizations apply for the funding of projects or programs during these cycles, and unrestricted funds support these grants.
Now is also a great time to establish a new unrestricted fund since all contributions to it will be matched! Typically, an unrestricted fund can be established with a gift of $10,000. But during this promotional period, an unrestricted fund can be established with a gift of $3333.34 (while promotional matching funds are available).
