GIFT IX Capital Expenditures Grant Cycle Opens Nov. 1

WINCHESTER, IN (October 26, 2026) – Through its Community Support Grant, funded by Lilly Endowment Inc.’s GIFT IX initiative, the Community Foundation of Randolph County (CFRC) has allocated more than $200,000 to support Randolph County-based nonprofit organizations and parks departments with facility improvements and investments that help them fulfill their missions and better serve local residents.

As part of this funding, CFRC is launching a competitive Capital Expenditures (CapEx) Grant Cycle to support major facility renovations and new construction projects. Projects must be completed by June 30, 2028.

Organizations may request grants ranging from $7,500 to $35,000. Grant awards exceeding $15,000 will require a 1-to-1 match for the portion above $15,000. For example, an organization receiving the maximum $35,000 grant would need to demonstrate $20,000 in additional funding from other sources before the final $20,000 of the grant would be released.

Applications will ask organizations to provide:

  • An overview of the organization and its mission
  • A description of the proposed project and desired outcomes
  • The total project cost, grant request and other funding sources, including any required matching funds
  • At least two project quotes dated within the past 12 months
  • The names and qualifications of key personnel who will oversee the project
  • An explanation of how the project will advance the organization’s mission and benefit its clients and the broader community

Key Dates

  • Application opens: Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026
  • Application deadline: Friday, Dec. 11, 2026
  • Application review: January 2027
  • Grant awards announced: Early February 2027

Participation in the CapEx Grant Cycle does not prevent organizations from applying for CFRC’s regular 2027 grant cycles. However, regular 2027 grant cycles will not fund facility or capital projects.
