Community Foundation Awards Over $66,000 In Spring Grant Cycle

The Community Foundation presented checks totaling $66,550 to fourteen (14) area non-profit organizations throughout Randolph County at a reception on May 6th at the Community Room in Union City.  The Foundation regularly stewards the Foundation’s Community Enrichment Fund and other unrestricted dollars to assist non-profits in annual spring and fall competitive grant cycles.  Recently the Foundation’s Grants Committee, having reviewed applications based on established criteria and scoring, met to make decisions, and the following organizations were selected to receive support for the 2021 Spring Grant Cycle. Winchester Alumni Association Inc. $1,000 To assist with the purchase of supplies to mail newsletter
City of Winchester – Park Board $6,000 For outdoor concerts at Goodrich Park.  Faith and Worship series
Cardinal Greenway, Inc. $4,000 To replace the damaged and aging water fountain at the Losantville Trailhead
Randolph County YMCA $4,800 To assist with educational needs regarding an abstinence-based sex-education program
Art Association of Randolph County $5,000 To purchase a new furnace and to buy art supplies for all five area high schools
Saving Old Properties, Inc. $1,500 To assist with purchasing security cameras
Youth Opportunity Center $5,500 To provide assistance to help keep children safely in their homes
A Better Life Brianna’s Hope $2,500 For meeting expenses and to purchase recovery materials
Randolph Eastern School Corporation $15,000 To assist the Vision Corner project, Phase 1, lower-level windows
Preservation Society of Union City IN-OH $6,000 To create a streetscape mural as part of a city project to enhance outdoor space in the downtown area
State Line Heritage Days $6,000 To provide entertainment for the State Line Heritage Festival
Children’s Advocacy Center of Randolph County, Inc. $4,000 To purchase Team Case Management tracking system and Training Resources
United Way of Delaware, Henry, and Randolph Counties $3,750 To enroll additional children in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Program
Farmland Friends Church $1,500 To assist with playground repairs
