$1 for $1 Matching Event Begins

The Community Foundation of Randolph County itself has a new endeavor to celebrate alongside Community Foundation Week 2020, a fund aimed at helping education in Randolph County.

“The Board voted to establish this new fund to help address the needs of education throughout the county and have challenged the community to help,” said Lisa Jennings, Executive Director of the Community Foundation.  “Our board has pledged to match community donations up to $15,000. Working together we can support our schools with $30,000” said Community Foundation and retired educator and board member Cathy Stephen Miller.

“We all know our educational systems have struggled to meet the needs of all students during the pandemic. Finances may be even further stretched due to dwindling tax dollars. The Community Foundation supports education and understands it is a priority of the residents we serve. We are challenging our community to give to a new endowed education fund to allow the Foundation to support educational endeavors for years to come,” Stephen Miller said.

Jennings said grants will be made from this fund to assist the needs of education in Randolph County.  She said, “We are very excited about this new match opportunity, as we are continually seeking to bring community partners and donors together to find effective solutions to the challenging needs of our county.” The Community Foundation of Randolph County is a 501 c (3) non-profit organization.  Please give now through the end of the year to show your support for strengthening education in Randolph County, and we will match your donation $1 for $1.
