Community Foundation Awards Over $65,000 in Spring Grant Cycle

WINCHESTER, INDIANA, May 9, 2025 – The Community Foundation of Randolph County presented checks totaling more than $65,000 to twelve (12) non-profit organizations supporting Randolph County at its grants reception on May 8th at Vision Corner Learning Center in Union City with a live-stream of the event provided by KISS Communications. The Foundation stewards its unrestricted dollars to assist non-profits in competitive grant cycles each spring and fall.

“We are proud to be the stewards of community resources that can continue to make Randolph County a better place to live, work and play,” Executive Director Lisa Jennings said. “These grants will inspire good and are milestones for improving our community.”

The Foundation’s Board of Directors approved the recommendations made by the Foundation’s Grants Committee, having reviewed applications based on established criteria and scoring. The following organizations received support through the Spring 2025 Grant Cycle:

  • American Red Cross, $6,500
    • To support disaster relief in Randolph County, including home fires.
  • City of Union City (with support from Randolph Eastern’s Playground Paradise), $5,000
    • To support the Playground Paradise project at Harter Park.
  • Countryside Christian Church, $5,000
    • To support the 2025 Summer Faith Concert.
  • Gracie’s Gift, $2,500
    • To support the Randolph County Feline Spay/Neuter Assistance program.
  • Heart of Indiana United Way, $6,500
    • To support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library for Randolph County children.
  • Indiana Lions Foundation (on behalf of the Union City Lions Club), $5,000
    • To support completion of Military Park.
  • Monroe Central Athletic League, $5,000
    • To support installation of drainage at the ball diamonds.
  • Randolph County YMCA, $2,400
    • To support the Creating Positive Relationships program in county middle schools.
  • Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana, $7,500
    • To support Randolph County initiatives, including mobile distributions, Operation Full Pack, Senior Safety Net, and The Big Idea.
  • State Line Heritage Days, $6,000
    • To support this year’s festival.
  • Winchester Main Street, $3,650
    • To support the 2025 Lofty Projects, Goals, and Rewards, including QR code management, new business orientation packets, calendar of events, and beautification.
  • Youth Opportunity Center, $10,000
    • To provide concrete assistance for the Family Preservation program.

The next competitive grant cycle is scheduled for this fall with applications due by Tuesday, September 30th.
