Women’s Fund of Randolph County Announces Winners of 2025 Art Contest

WINCHESTER, INDIANA – In preparation for its Brunch and Auction, the Women’s Fund of Randolph County conducted its annual Art Contest at the end of May. The Art Contest is an opportunity for local artists to share their talents with the wider community and compete for cash prizes. As in past years, the 2025 prize sponsors are Old National Bank and the Winchester Rotary Club.

This year’s awards were as follows:

Grand Prize Award: Sheryl Thurston for her painting titled Round Barn.

Ruth Mills Art Award: Tim Passmore for his wood-woven bowl Corn Flower.

Chérie Isakson Art Award: Della Massey for her painting titled Go For It!.

While the prize-winning artworks have been recognized on the Community Foundation of Randolph County’s Facebook page, each entry to this year’s Art Contest will be on public display at locations across the county on a rotating basis. Between now and the end of July, artworks will be displayed at Old National Bank (Winchester), the Arts Depot (Union City), the Farmland Cultural Center (Farmland), Matchett & Ward Insurance (Winchester), the Parker City Library (Parker City), and the Randolph County YMCA (Winchester).

Each entry to this year’s Art Contest will be available for bidding during the Women’s Fund of Randolph County’s Brunch and Auction on Saturday, August 16th, 2025. The cost to attend the event is $30 per person, and a catered brunch is included in the ticket price. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Community Foundation’s office at 120 West Washington Street in Winchester during normal business hours.

“All proceeds from the event benefit the Women’s Fund, which was created to give the women and children of Randolph County a brighter future,” emphasized Lisa Jennings, Executive Director of the Community Foundation.

Winchester native Jaylei Osting volunteered her time to judge for the contest. A graduate of Ball State University, Ms. Osting is a young abstract painter, based in Indianapolis, whose paintings are inspired by music, reflecting what she envisions while listening to a song. Her work has been featured on Fox Sports with Winchester Speedway as well as through the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s 2024 “Welcome Race Fans” initiative.

While the event is aimed at local women, anyone can purchase tickets to attend. With a limited number offered, tickets are available while supplies last, with the latest date for potential ticket sales of Friday, August 1st. For any questions about the brunch or auction, please contact Ashley Stephen at 765-584-9077. Tickets can be purchased at the Community Foundation office or online at www.randolphcountyfoundation.org/womens-fund-donation/. No tickets will be sold at the door.
